Double back from the far corner and take the path in the middle of the large stand of rhododendron "Pink Pearl". At the bottom of the Glen is a nice white evergreen azalea "Palestrina" flowering May-June, and an even nicer, Rhododendron haematodes with waxy red flowers in April and rust-coloured indumentum under the leaves. Climb the steps leading to the keeper's path. On the way you will pass some tall hybrid rhododendrons including "Dawn's Blush". Near the top, the steps pass through a dense thicket of highly fragrant yellow azalea before emerging onto the keeper's path.
